An ode to the last true monsters of the deep

From July to September 2021, 15 sculptures will be installed along the coastline of Costa Smeralda, where the underwater flora and fauna are flourishing again since part of its coast is now a marine protected area. 100% of the profit of the AMO auction sales sales will be donated to Sea Shepherd’s ocean conservation program.

The series draws attention to the rate at which our oceans are diminishing through life-sized sculptures of endangered marine animals. The thousands of longline fishing hooks used to create these spectacular sculptures are an ode to the last true monsters of the deep.

Vincent: quote, bijv. “Exactly 10 years ago, I came into contact with Sea Shepherd and was instantly inspired by their amazing work. Sea Shepherd is the reason I started making these artworks. Simply because I had to turn what I felt into something concrete. By using real fish hooks to create beautiful, but also fragile iconic marine animals, I want to draw attention to the importance of these species for the health of our oceans.
